About this artwork
This work represents a kind of link between the Spanish flu virus of the early 1900s and the recent Covid-19 epidemic. Using an old image of that period and its total reworking through the assembly technique, the artist has created a sort of contemporary figure, connected to the past as far as it can concern a whole typology of feelings linked, both yesterday and today, to the anguish, loneliness, impotence before an invisible monster like a virus…
or a bacterium can be. The work, in its specific image, represents a totally alienated and at the same time hysterical figure from the passing of events related to the quarantine period.
