About this artwork
Work of art applied on canvas. The frame was handcrafted by the artist, with wooden slats, for a country and minimal style. Work of art created by painting on a base with fragmented cement and acrylic colours. Artwork fragmented by the artist. The landscape is that of the village of Capracotta, in the mountains, in the Italian region of Molise, in the province of Isernia. In the foreground, there is a shepherd walking with his flock. Transhumance… is an ancient tradition. Work created in 2022, using oil and acrylic on fresco (of "scagliola"). The work is currently unavailable because it is intended for an exhibition to be held in August 2022 in the center of Capracotta (IS), a well-known mountain town located in the Molise region, in Italy. The work was purchased during the exhibition.
Len Vernaghi, originally from Porrentruy but deeply rooted in Italy, is a multidisciplinary person: painter, photographer, designer, textile artist, engraver, sculptor. He stands out for his portable fresco technique, combining traditional pigments with alternative solutions, and uniting contrasting themes and styles. Her works reveal a powerful socio-political commitment, giving voice to frugality, nature, femininity and marginal places, with an atmosphere of wonder derived from her dreamlike subjects.
