About this artwork
In my work I wanted to capture the essence of a castle immersed in nature, using acrylic and earth on a scagliola base applied to framed canvas, to emphasize an earthly and tactile connection. Stylistically, I mixed fine art with expressionism and naïve figurativism, creating a painting that simultaneously expresses the robustness of the ancient and the naivety of the wild. The deer, the central element, symbolizes nobility and freedom, inviting…
the viewer to reflect on the coexistence between human history and indomitable nature. This canvas brings thoughtful energy and a touch of mystery to the home of anyone who hosts it. The subject of the work is a distant view of Alnwick Castle in the county of Northumberland; in the foreground it is possible to admire a deer, which looks back at the viewer.
