About this artwork
In my work I have tried to capture the essence of an eternal moment, using acrylics, collage, plaster, cement and lime. This representation of the cathedral blends geometric and realistic elements, evoking a feeling of solemnity and historicity. The presence of the human figures adds a touch of everyday life and connection, exploring the relationship between historic architecture and modern passers-by. Such a composition gives an aura of reflection… and timeless beauty to your space. The cathedral of Trani, whose official name is the Cathedral Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, commonly known as San Nicola Pellegrino, is the main Catholic place of worship in the city of Trani, in Puglia, mother church of the archdiocese of Trani-Barletta-Bisceglie and, since 1960, a minor basilica. The frame is without glass, but is equipped with a hook that allows the work to be hung. The work is delicate, but can be cleaned easily using a common duster.
Len Vernaghi, originally from Porrentruy but deeply rooted in Italy, is a multidisciplinary person: painter, photographer, designer, textile artist, engraver, sculptor. He stands out for his portable fresco technique, combining traditional pigments with alternative solutions, and uniting contrasting themes and styles. Her works reveal a powerful socio-political commitment, giving voice to frugality, nature, femininity and marginal places, with an atmosphere of wonder derived from her dreamlike subjects.
