This artwork was created with a mixed media, commonly known as "canvased paper", which consists of painting on a canvas (cotton). The fabric was subsequently glued onto a non-rigid paper support. The paper, however, is slightly stiffened due to the canvas glued onto it. The work is not framed and is not mounted on a rigid support. The dimensions of the work are 50x35 centimetres. The peculiarity of the painting is the shades, which stand out more… on the fabric. The subject of the painting is a young, blue-eyed man drinking his beer straight from the mug at the Oktoberfest. The young man was portrayed wearing the typical Bavarian costume. The historical-political value of the event, the traditional fashion, but also a lot of serenity given to the character by the music and the festive air shine through the painting.
Len Vernaghi, originally from Porrentruy but deeply rooted in Italy, is a multidisciplinary person: painter, photographer, designer, textile artist, engraver, sculptor. He stands out for his portable fresco technique, combining traditional pigments with alternative solutions, and uniting contrasting themes and styles. Her works reveal a powerful socio-political commitment, giving voice to frugality, nature, femininity and marginal places, with an atmosphere of wonder derived from her dreamlike subjects.
