About this artwork
The end of the blue hour.
An attempt to capture that edge between light and what fades away,
that brief instant when what you see
It feels like it's already been experienced.
I contemplate The End of the Blue Hour and perceive a stillness heavy with memory, as if the landscape had emerged not from the outside world, but from an inner echo difficult to name. The atmosphere, dominated by those cold, deep tones, envelops the scene in a serene melancholy,… where the water acts as a mirror of time: what was, what is, and what has yet to happen. In this work, I sense the imprint of déjà vu transformed into image, an intuition made tangible, where the present becomes the only habitable territory, suspended between the nostalgia of the past and the uncertainty of the future.
Leo De la O is an artist trained in painting, with a degree in fine arts and a master's degree in analog and digital photography, excelling as a draftsman, photographer, and printmaker. His mixed media technique merges photography, oil painting, and drawing, exploring postmodern figuration and painterly intervention to create atmospheres of nostalgia and silence. In each work, Leo manipulates individual and collective memories, conveying profound layers of emotion and introspection, inviting the viewer to relive overlapping, fragmented, and timeless memories.
