About this artwork
Welcome to the second chapter of my Cat Series. In "Cat-2" , my large, luxurious black cat is captured in a calmer, more stately, and observational pose. He sits and gazes back over his shoulder, his fluffy silhouette frozen in ink on paper, conveying the same soft texture seen in "Cat-1"
To capture his dynamic yet watchful nature, I added two delicate, dreamy botanical stems with soft seed heads. They represent whispers from my magical universe,… a connection to the invisible things he witnessed.
Intertwining sumi-e traditions with my roots in ethno-surrealism and fantastic realism, this work showcases meticulous fine detail lining applied to the grace of the botanicals and his pose. This co-signed original reimagines contemporary art through magic realism and graphics. Perfect for exclusive luxury interior decor, it's a unique gift and a piece of my magical universe. Together, they create a multi-layered narrative of my cat's spirit.
Li-Safi Mariya is a painter from Tashkent, trained in Uzbekistan’s leading art institutions and renowned for her academic and teaching background. Her symbolic ethno-surrealist and fantastic realist style fuses intricate pointillist mosaics with meditative ornamentation, juxtaposing smooth central figures against dense, vibrating backgrounds. Her artworks explore ancient mythology, everyday rituals, and the merging of science with folklore, evoking a profound sense of sacred calm and inviting viewers into visual labyrinths of wonder and memory.
