This diptych is made with two works from Composition No. 36, already exhibited here. Work No. 36 can also be combined into diptychs or triptychs while preserving the content of the work. Moreover, the musical pieces and therefore the panels are so different from each other that this opportunity can be exploited by taking care to combine works with similar shapes and colors. Therefore, it is composed of the "Ballet des Poussins" and the "Gnomus."… The first painting depicts figures of children disguised as chicks in their shells, ready for a small theatrical performance. The music initially depicts them as unruly and then brings them back to order. The second depicts the figure of the 'elf' who, with darting and lightning-fast movements, appears and disappears from the scene. The grotesque tone of the representation borders on the demonic. All the woodwind instruments with trumpets and trombones and string melodies are prominent! You can watch the attached video where I explain the entire Composition No. 36.
Lino Spada is a self-taught artist who expresses his passion for art through painting, drawing, and sculpture. He uses innovative techniques such as wood collage to create sculpture-paintings where shapes and colors highlight the lines. He has a A unique way of combining painting, collage, and sculpture to create dynamic and expressive pieces! The works in the RITMI series are a prime example: a translation of sound into shapes and colors! The sculptures, on the other hand, are inspired by late-nineteenth-century Italian peasant culture and the ancient symbols of the Samnites. These essential works evoke a delicate relationship between man and nature, awakening a subtle emotionality and an intimate, dreamlike dimension. He uses traditional materials such as wood, iron, and stone, often recycled and treated to restore their original value.
