About this artwork
This is the second painting in a series born during a quiet moment of Bible study in the book of Jonah. As I reflected on Jonah 3:1 , “Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time…” . I was deeply moved by the grace of a God who offers second chances.
I imagined what Jonah might have seen from within the belly of the great fish: vast, engulfing shades of blue, dark, deep, yet not devoid of purpose. That vision became the foundation of… this collection.
Each fluid abstract captures both the mystery and mercy of God’s presence in our lowest places. Even in confinement, Jonah’s calling remained. This series is a visual reminder that ignoring God’s voice is far more dangerous than the storm, and that His purpose always rises to the surface in His perfect time.
I pray that Rustic Oceanic Hues stirs reflection, faith, and inspiration as you engage with each piece.
