About this artwork
In my trilogy of paintings, I explored the tumultuous beauty of the stormy sky and the desire to leave, the horizon filled with warm light, the hope of better times and places, Exile, migration, the search for a place to live, to survive.
It could be the scenario of the journey to escape the bombings of a war, but desperation is tinged with hope.... at the end of the journey there is light.
Using acrylic and chalk, I harnessed the impressionist… and semi-abstract style to capture the effervescence of the ever-changing natural environment. Each canvas invites the viewer to reflect on their own inner storms, transforming any space into a refuge of deep contemplation and respect for the impetuous nature. One of the three paintings was published in the 2024 edition of CAM, Catalogo dell'Arte Moderna N. 59, and the triptych was also exhibited, among others, at the Duepuntozero gallery in Bergamo in 2023
Luana Baldi, a native of Tuscany, mixes cement, plaster and glue to create contemporary and abstract canvases full of materiality. His style oscillates between the opacity of acrylic and the shine of tar, creating bold contrasts. His works are a chromatic journey into emotional depth, from the intense black of the night to the boundless blue of the sea.
