About this artwork
The artist is interested in human life. In her works people enter her paintings, walk through and exit towards places we do not know but that we can imagine. She see in this process our life. It starts at one point, we walk down to the exit without knowing when or where the exit will be.

Luciana Mathioudakis is an Italian-Greek artist currently based in Brussels. She is an experienced artist who has spent more than two decades studying painting in various studios and workshops. While for the majority of her career Mathioudakis worked exclusively with oil and pastel paints, she recently switched to beeswax applied to panel, a system that dates back to ancient Greece. Her work explores how people orient themselves in various spaces, especially within crowds, as well as the broader theme of movement as a form of dialogue between people.
