About this artwork
I try to make immortal some beautiful flowers, their colours, painting them in landscape that has been there for centuries. In this way I create a contrast of places, times and colours. What is a fix element is light which is binding all elements in one picture.

Luciana Mathioudakis is an Italian-Greek artist currently based in Brussels. She is an experienced artist who has spent more than two decades studying painting in various studios and workshops. While for the majority of her career Mathioudakis worked exclusively with oil and pastel paints, she recently switched to beeswax applied to panel, a system that dates back to ancient Greece. Her work explores how people orient themselves in various spaces, especially within crowds, as well as the broader theme of movement as a form of dialogue between people.
