About this artwork
Blush No. IV began with a real cherry blossom specimen, chosen for its extraordinary density, softness, and quiet sense of abundance. Captured through our ultra-high-resolution scannography process, it reveals layers of detail, tonal depth, and botanical structure often missed in everyday life.
For us, this work is about being stopped by something delicate, then discovering it holds far more presence than first imagined. Designed for two ways of… seeing: a bold presence from across the room, and an immersive world of detail revealed up close.
Not vintage botanical. Not illustration. Not photography.
Although listed within Singulart’s Giclée print category, this work is not a giclée print. It is a museum-grade photographic artwork created through scannography, produced as a continuous-tone photographic print, and finished beneath acrylic for depth, clarity, and permanence.
Botanica Lumen is the collaborative studio of Anna Surdacka and Luis Fernandez, bringing together botanical artistry, optical imaging, and material precision. Anna’s instinct for living form and natural composition meets Luis’s background in optics, physics, and ultra-high-resolution imaging, shaped through years developing industrial scanning systems.
Together, they created an original scannographic practice that captures real botanical specimens with extraordinary clarity, tonal depth, and presence. Working against deep black fields, their pieces move beyond vintage botanical illustration, traditional photography, or decorative printmaking, revealing nature as something immersive, architectural, and unexpectedly powerful.
Designed to be admired from afar and discovered up close, each Botanica Lumen work is created as a museum-grade photographic object, built to live with presence for generations.
