The relationship with trees is very strong here: African trees of course, but also olive trees, oaks, umbrella pines, acacias ... For Ly-Rose, trees are the backbone of the world, tell us our own story, we teach wisdom and verticality.
Ly-Rose often works in mixed media, with an oil painting on marouflage of paper and prints in order to find the texture of the bark, the vein of the leaf,… the pleated aspect of the trunk where s' bury the artist's "secret stories". Do not try to decipher the texts. Only the tree can read them.
