More trees, but more abstract, more tenuous, still drowned in the blur but here in a solar and golden mist and of course words in the paint. Between abstraction and figuration, light and opacity, glaze and impasto, interiority and gesture, water and earth,… earth and sky, lightness and depth, Ly-Rose retains the thread essential to the weaving of a work. The years spent in Africa have influenced his work, Africa as a trace, magic wounding the material of scarifications, tattoos, superimposition of layers, solar palette, rituals of veiled and unveiled words, like so many palimpsests giving birth to the work. .
