About this artwork
The serenity and beauty of nature are my counterbalance to the noise and emotional overload that living in a big city entails. Concentrating on the painting of a flower like this is a breath of fresh air for me, and I hope it is for everyone who contemplates it...the padma (or lotus flower) is a flower of deep spiritual meaning, encompassing purity, creation, renewal and connection with the divine The flower, painted in an intense saffron tone, unfolds… reflecting our own transformation and inner growth. Surrounded by large leaves floating peacefully on calm waters, the Padma stands as a beacon of hope and renewal amidst contemplative silence....
The work is painted with vegan watercolors on 100% cotton paper. Work framed with straight architect-type molding in oak color for exhibition (number 5), but we can frame it in another finish and leave it ready to hang.
Trained in Fine Arts, Macarena Sanz transitions fluidly from oil to graphite, but it is in the magic of watercolor where she finds her voice. With a bold technique that challenges the limits between figurativism and abstraction, Sanz approaches large formats to explore serenity in the face of chaos. His works are an oasis of tranquility that invite you to find calm amid the storm of daily life.
