About this artwork
Matera, the oldest city in Europe, situated in south Italy, houses partly carved out in the rock. The old part, the Sassi, has so many interesting doors and buildings. Its easy to get lost in the windling streets and stairways. This door inspired me for its half open door - you can peek inside, but not all is revealed. Who lives here? What is their story? The plant and the lamp gives some clues, but what more is hidden?
This watercolur was painted… mostly with Italian earth pigments to get the best atmospheric feeling.
Magnus Lindblom, a diversified talent, hailing from a software background, uses acrylics, watercolour, and printworks enhancing his artistic expression. His experimentations with multiple styles and techniques create unique pieces, whether it's painting or fluid pours. Magnus’s artistry brightly reflects life's beauty, infusing viewers with radiant hope against a bleak societal narrative. His works are soul-stirring, encapsulating nature's magic and the essence of human spirit.
"The selection presented here clearly demonstrates the artists versatility and plurality of techniques. It seems the artist is more than comfortable with different kinds of paint and medium. From the wide variety of artworks presented here, it very clear the artists is very experienced in a wide array of techniques and can both explore abstraction and figuration." from portfolio review by Camille Lacaze at Skarstedt Gallery
