About this artwork
Luminous Silence reduces color in favor of light, surface, and trace. An almost entirely golden surface is crisscrossed by fine, darker lines and subtle textures. What initially appears calm and minimalist reveals, upon closer inspection, a complex, almost fragile surface.
Scratches, lines, and irregular marks disrupt the smooth surface of the gold. Depending on the angle of the light, they become more prominent or disappear again.
This work… belongs to the Gilded Erosion series. Here, gold is not understood as a flawless surface, but as a material that bears traces and thereby gains its depth.
