About this artwork
This work was created during my artist residency at the Lüben Workshop Week and marks a bold step in my material-related research. I built up the base layer from a mixture of cement, plaster, and pigments before applying oil, acrylic, and ink to the specially prepared canvas. This results in a richly textured, yet sensitive and resistant surface.
This material base not only changes the visual effect, but also the physical relationship between color,… ink and substrate – a tense interplay of fragility and stability, of movement and duration.
Visually, the work moves between abstraction and landscape: muted grays and smoky blues meet vibrant ultramarine and gestural green lines. Subtle ink gradations and striking placements invite the viewer to immerse themselves in a world that feels both grounded and ephemeral.
