About this artwork
In my work "The Acrobat," I capture the mystical and untouched nature in a captivating black and white image. This photograph depicts the intertwined branches of a tree, a symbol of resilience. The choice of analogue techniques emphasizes the timeless quality of the scene. This image brings a deep, tranquil energy to any space, inspiring reflection and admiration for nature.
The photograph is stylishly framed in a round wooden frame and covered… with a protective resin seal, which makes the photo object look very noble.

I am María Gutiérrez, a visual artist from Bogotá, Colombia. In my artistic practice, I work with two focuses: painting and photography. Both media enable me to create emotional, atmospheric, and contemplative spaces that invite connection with oneself, one's surroundings, and nature. I completed my art studies in 2009 at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia with a focus on photography. I then taught art and photography at private schools in Bogotá for four years. In 2012, I moved to Germany. I later continued my studies at the Stuttgart State Academy of Fine Arts and successfully graduated in 2021. Since then, I have been working as a freelance artist. Today, I live in Freiburg im Breisgau with my husband and our two children. My work has been exhibited in Colombia, Ecuador, Germany, Switzerland, and Spain, among other places.
