The major theme in Marc Abele’s work is 'development', in itself, which he describes as ‘inexhaustible’. His paintings are a transformation of concepts into abstract and non-representational, non-verbal pictorial forms. When Abele works in such terms, he ponders its meaning, relating it to what he sees around him, which ‘triggers a chain of pictorial ideas’. His new compositions are also inspired by the formal characteristics of previous pieces.
