About this artwork
In every city I have visited I have encountered people preaching on the street. A colourful, larger than life personality talking at the top of their voice for all to hear. I have witnessed them on trains or in subway stations, on buses, on street corners. I have even seen one stand and deliver a speech in a crowded restaurant.
But really this painting is about those that have the courage and conviction and sometimes lack of self awareness to stand… and deliver what they believe in.

Marc Rayner is an Australian artist based in Sweden who has exhibited his works nationally, as well as in Sweden, Monaco, France, Qatar, Italy, India, South Korea, Denmark, and Japan. The key to his artworks is the creation of 'quasi-landscapes' rich in text and design, or flat and almost devoid of information. This 'distorted zone' is a place where Rayner's tormented, disenfranchised, and often unfortunate characters exist. He is drawn to outsider artistic styles and naive art in broader terms.
