About this artwork
I created this work to capture stillness and isolation, a suspended moment that speaks to the heart of existence. The figures emerge from nowhere, trapped in a contrast between light and shadow, reflecting our search for meaning in a vast and sometimes empty world. Each brushstroke of acrylic color is meditated, giving life to a figurative, minimal and symbolic composition, which invites reflection and introspection. This painting on panel will be… an emotional window into your home, a constant invitation to find beauty in simplicity and shared solitude. The light defines the bodies of three figures who are on the shoreline of the beach during low tide. The composition emphasizes the human figures who apparently are the only subjects of the image, but in reality the surface of the wood, with its variegated color and grain, constitutes much more than a background thanks to its material, chromatic and tactile qualities.
« A mirror reflects a face and art reflects the soul. »
Marco Ronga is an experienced painter, draftsman, and sculptor based in Italy whose works have been exhibited nationally and in England. He describes his works as fusing themes of the portrait and the human figure with suggestions of urban architecture and the landscape resuting in "portraits of places and landscapes of bodies". Ronga's painterly compositions are most often created with acrylics and oils on wood or canvas.
