About this artwork
The sensuality and charm of Tango are evoked in this painting by the appearance of a couple of dancers in the dark. The movements that are both rigid and sinuous are immortalized in a geometric composition. The expressionist trait is enhanced by the intense and saturated tones of the warm colors of the two dancers' clothes and contrast against the purple, blue and brown of the background. The painter's palette abandons naturalistic colors to be charged…
with intense emotions such as the Fauves colors. A simple wooden frame completes the picture by recalling the warm tones of cadmium yellow.
