About this artwork
The protagonist of the painting is the physicality of the human body in a tangle of limbs entangled in a fight or in an embrace. Bodies seem to implode, collapse on themselves: the complexity of human relationships is thus symbolically represented.
The language chosen by the painter is that of a contemporary expressionism: bright, contrasting and anti-naturalistic colors. Sharp outlines and expressive lines guide the observer's gaze but without… any interest in the traditional anatomical representation which is replaced by the uncertainty of the limit between one figure and another.

Marco Ronga is an experienced painter, draftsman, and sculptor based in Italy whose works have been exhibited nationally and in England. He describes his works as fusing themes of the portrait and the human figure with suggestions of urban architecture and the landscape resuting in "portraits of places and landscapes of bodies". Ronga's painterly compositions are most often created with acrylics and oils on wood or canvas.
