About this artwork
Naples is represented seen from the sea with the bright colors, fauves, of its temperament. A seaside city with strong contrasts that does not allow half measures: it conquers you with its hypnotic beauty or strikes you with its abysses. The complementary colors collide, returning the effects of sunlight which here has sharp and defined shadows. A tribute to the city that the painter knew and frequented in his early youth.
