About this artwork
The painter imagines a woman and a jellyfish floating in the sea. The fabric that surrounds the woman has strong affinities with the apparatus of the filaments and tentacles of the jellyfish as both in the water are an example of grace and elegance in the movements. The transparencies and colors of the medusa's body like luminescent mother-of-pearl recall the whiteness of the fabric and of the woman's body.
Even the enigmatic title is in full surrealist… style and underlines how beauty can unite very distant objects and resonate with the spirit of those who become aware of them. The canvas was built by the painter and has a strong thickness: it does not need a frame and is designed to be exposed directly on the wall as it is also painted on the side.

Marco Ronga is an experienced painter, draftsman, and sculptor based in Italy whose works have been exhibited nationally and in England. He describes his works as fusing themes of the portrait and the human figure with suggestions of urban architecture and the landscape resuting in "portraits of places and landscapes of bodies". Ronga's painterly compositions are most often created with acrylics and oils on wood or canvas.
