About this artwork
With Limes II, I continue my exploration of light and the horizon. Here, the band of blue shifts downward, creating a different sense of grounding than in Limes I.
I use pure pigments to achieve an intensity that defies the two-dimensionality of the paper. The white scratches that pierce the blue are instinctive acts, reminders of the invisible soul that resides within the material. It is a dialogue between chromatic strength and the purity of the… medium, aimed at revealing the vital energy hidden within the form.
The work is part of the Limes series and can be displayed individually or paired with its twin to create a monumental diptych.

My artistic research is born from subtraction, from the desire to leave space for silence, for light and for what often remains invisible.
Through painting, matter, and contemplative photography, I explore the fragile boundary between presence and absence. My works thrive on the balance between emptiness and matter, light and shadow, gesture and suspension.
I'm drawn to anything that bears the marks of time and imperfection: worn jute, raw paper, pigments, chalk, water, fibers, and worn surfaces. I don't use them as decorative elements, but as emotional traces and silent memories.
The minimalism I seek is neither cold nor geometric, but contemplative and material, influenced by wabi-sabi aesthetics, Eastern sensibility, and the most essential contemporary photography.
The “unfinished” is a fundamental part of my artistic language: I am interested in suggesting rather than explaining, leaving the observer the space to emotionally complete what is not fully shown.
