About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to capture a moment of suspension, that magical moment when reality fades into dream. The inspiration comes from my profound fascination with Japanese aesthetics and the ritual of Hanami, the cherry blossoming, which for me represents the sublime yet fleeting beauty of life.
I chose to use oil paint with a rich, textured layer to give body to the air itself: the "mist" of petals is not just a decorative element, but a vibrant… atmosphere that envelops the pagoda, a symbol of stability and spirituality. As I painted, my goal was for the viewer to not simply gaze at a landscape, but to almost sense the scent of flowers and the silence of a distant sunset.
'Beyond the Mist of Petals' is an invitation to slow down, to let yourself be transported by the colour and to seek that inner peace that you feel when you lose yourself in the vastness of nature.
