About this artwork
“Reflection IV” is about merging and joint development. Two movements find each other and no longer continue their paths separately, but together. From this emerges a new direction characterized by connection and mutual reinforcement.
Different experiential spaces exist side by side: calmer, more neutral, or even more difficult phases, as well as positive, bright moments. The work explores how these contrasts do not divide, but rather coexist in… connection with one another. It is about moving forward together despite different starting points, and about the strength that arises from this.
Marianne Hollmann is a painter and sculptor with many years of training and intensive engagement in courses and renowned cultural institutions. She experiments with self-created paper pulps, various additives, and patinated surfaces, resulting in works characterized by contrasts and oppositions between chance and control. Powerful, feminine forms, minimalist accents, and the diversity of materials define her distinctive style. Her artworks convey familiarity, warmth, and tranquility, evoking positive feelings and surprise in the viewer.
