About this artwork
"Red Fuji" is an illustration created with colored pencils (Faber-Castell Polychromos) on 180gsm A5 paper. The drawing is inspired by the work "Fresh Wind on a Clear Morning" or "Red Fuji," an ukiyo-e (nishiki-e woodblock print) from the series "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji," created around 1830 by Hokusai, the famous Japanese painter, draftsman, and engraver (1760-1849). I wanted to undertake a new, contemporary chromatic exploration with my own…
distinctive style and graphic technique, by revisiting a famous and renowned work.
