About this artwork
"One of the greatest tragedies in a woman's life is growing old. It is also the longest because one prepares for it one's whole life." Susan Sontag (1933-2004, American essayist, novelist and activist), quoted in the book "Old Skin: Women, Their Bodies, Their Age" by Fiona Schmidt published in 2023 by Éditions Belfond.
"Time is running out" is a drawing created with Faber Castell polychromos colored pencils on 30x30cm paper. It's an initial illustrated… reflection on the pressure and discrimination women face throughout their lives regarding aging.
Portrait inspired by a 2000 photograph of Milla Jovovich by Peter Lindbergh in New York. Clock inspired by a piece of furniture at the Château de Chenonceau. Colors inspired by the Munken Agenda 2025.
