About this artwork
I never start a painting with a plan — I let the colours lead the way. As this piece came to life, I began to see a landscape forming — one that reminded me of autumn in Quebec, with its golden leaves, cool air, and vibrant contrasts.
Falling into Colours captures the feeling of being surrounded by nature’s last burst of warmth before winter. The deep blues bring calm and reflection, while the reds and golds pulse with energy and emotion.

Marie Manon Corbeil began to paint amidst personal challenges:‘Between sadness and hope, there was art’. Realizing that life’s difficulties provided her with a new means of expression, Corbeil wants to convey a sense of joy within her contemporary abstract works. She draws forms and writes positive words under each canvas before beginning a piece. Employing large brushes to provoke unplanned strokes, she also uses her fingers to optimize the vibrant colors in her compositions.
