About this artwork

When I look at it, I see the wild in me—untamed and unapologetic. The animal prints feel like a quiet scream, a revolt against all the unfairness I see in the world. The bold black lines? They’re my fight—my way of standing up and not backing down.

But in the middle of that chaos, there’s joy too. Splashes of bright color that remind me of simple, happy moments with family. Of love, warmth, and little reasons to keep going. I even see a kind of… summer mountain landscape in it—wild, colourful, full of movement and life.

This painting holds everything: the rage, the hope, the beauty, and the noise. It’s me.
It’s all of us—trying our best to live a beautiful life in a chaotic world.

Marie Manon Corbeil began to paint amidst personal challenges:‘Between sadness and hope, there was art’. Realizing that life’s difficulties provided her with a new means of expression, Corbeil wants to convey a sense of joy within her contemporary abstract works. She draws forms and writes positive words under each canvas before beginning a piece. Employing large brushes to provoke unplanned strokes, she also uses her fingers to optimize the vibrant colors in her compositions.
