About this artwork
This is a still life of an inside world that was separated from the outside world by blinds. The outside world imposes itself with her bright rays of light that pours in through the cracks, in a very cheeky way.
Still lifes are everywhere, it becomes more obvious if your head is in silence too.
After photographing this still life in my bedroom I got dressed and cycled to my studio. I cycled through the silent streets of Zwolle. Such luxury that… I could escape this domestic detention.
On the 3th of April 2020 I entered an art contest to create a still life inspired on life in lockdown Covid times.
My submission was this photo called Luxe=flex. It was selected with the 20 best entries.

Marit Otto is a multi-disciplinary Dutch artist whose work has been exhibited in Netherlands, China and Vietnam.
