About this artwork
“Lovers” is among the works presented in the CROSSOVER exhibition at the Domus Art Gallery in Athens in 2023 and during the fourth edition of the Arte in Nuvola fair in Rome in 2024.
This work began as a tondo in mixed media, oil and resin on wood. The color expands in soft, sinuous flows, where intense reds, deep blues, and flashes of orange intertwine like bodies in a timeless embrace. At the center, a clear light illuminates the pictorial space,… suggesting a vital core around which the forms seek and merge, in a balance of energy and harmony.
The transparent resin layer amplifies the brilliance and lends an almost liquid sheen, transforming the surface into a vibrant mirror of emotions. The polished brass frame, crafted by the artist, completes the work, lending it a precious and contemporary character.
Lovers is a tribute to love understood as continuous movement, a primordial force that envelops and drags.
