About this artwork
Like a cosmic breath, Mother is a work that envelops the viewer in a dance of floating faces, connected by an intimate current of light and color. From the circular background emerge a multitude of female and childlike profiles—dreamy, serene figures, suspended in a timeless space. The warm tones of flesh, sand, and gold blend with deep blues and azures, evoking an ancestral and protective energy.
The work speaks of the mother as an archetype:… a source of life, of collective memory, of spiritual union. Some faces appear meditating, others seem listening or praying, suggesting a silent, universal chorus. The central void, luminous and pulsating, recalls a womb, an origin, a promise. Mother thus becomes a tribute to the generative force, to welcome, and to the mystery of birth.

Marjan Fahimi is a prizewinning Iranian painter born in Tehran. She currently lives and works in Rome. In her latest works Fahimi uses a more abstract approach, focusing on the main elements that characterize the poetics of the landscape. Painting with oil on wood, her works use solid natural hues to create calm, compelling compositions.
