In Claim 95, painting becomes an accumulation, the rhythmic construction of a surface that thickens layer by layer. Without a sketch, without a plan, the painting process begins with a throw, a flow, a drop. The paint reacts to itself, each new layer to what lies beneath.
The composition appears like a pulsating field – below, a dense carpet of turquoise, blue, red, and orange, above, a violet-pink shimmer that dissolves into fine dots. What emerges… is not conceived, but created.
