About this artwork
When I created Spring Loaded, I was thinking about the moment before awakening — when everything is still, but full of potential. The gray and white panels represent quiet seasons of waiting, while the vivid green and red center captures the instant life returns. The texture is sculpted so the surface feels alive, as if something is about to break open. This piece is about renewal, energy gathering, and the courage to begin again.

I was born in Germany and now divide my time between California’s Sequoia National Forest and the rolling hills of Umbria, Italy. I have been creating for as long as I can remember and was rarely without a pencil, crayon, or paintbrush in my hand as a child. Although life eventually led me to build and run a successful company and later become an author, creativity has always been my true north. After decades of writing about authenticity, healing, and personal transformation, I now explore many of the same themes through art. One of my greatest joys has been opening my own studio and gallery in California, where I create large-scale mixed-media works using plaster, paint, epoxy, glass, and found materials. I believe art is more than decoration—it has the power to influence how we feel, think, and experience the spaces around us. My goal is to create work that brings beauty, joy, and a sense of possibility into people's lives.
