About this artwork
The work interprets the formation of the Apuan Alps as a landscape brought to life by the energy of fluid color. From the blue and green flows, evoking the sea and its depths, a mountainous profile emerges, while the large white areas recall the luminous presence of marble.
The design of the peaks arises from the configurations of the casting and accompanies its movement, connecting the fluidity of the water with the solidity of the rock. Interweavings… and chromatic stratifications evoke geological time and the continuous transformation of matter: energy becomes form, the sea becomes mountain.

Credentials

Marta Modi is a self-taught painter who primarily uses fluid acrylics, motivated by a deep and visceral connection with color. In her artistic research, she expresses the flow of natural processes, translating the invisible dynamics that characterize matter into visual form.
Fluid painting, with its randomness and its physical and chemical rules, becomes the most suitable tool for representing transitions and transformations, using the same forces that act in the natural world: surface tension, attraction, repulsion, sedimentation. The artist explores this hidden process by combining intuition and scientific observation.
His works invite us to look beyond the visible, perceiving the beauty of vitality and the unpredictable in the continuous metamorphoses that characterize every living form, both physically and spiritually.
