About this artwork
"In 'Ikioi', I wanted to capture the unstoppable force of momentum. The background in blue and white tones represents the sea, which has always been a symbol of the uncontrollable and defiant. In the center, I created a texture with shades of hot pink, rusts and whites that simulates a ship sailing with determination, almost as if it were cutting through the air and water with its energy. That contrast between the serenity of the sea and the strength… of the ship is my way of expressing that vital impulse that moves us forward, even when the waters seem impassable.
"'Ikioi', which means momentum in Japanese, reflects that feeling of moving forward with everything, of not stopping. It is a feeling that inspires me in my work and in my life. Each brushstroke in the central texture seeks to capture that moment of pure energy, where there is no turning back, only the desire to move forward, with strength, despite any obstacles."
Marta Reina combines mixed media and acrylics, immersed in the world of art since her childhood. Using various spatulas and textures, her style evokes emotional abstraction, leading the viewer towards deep introspections about nature and the human condition. Her works radiate an introspective calm, resonating with the poetic serenity of the inner landscape.
