In his series EPHEMERS, the artist Martin Ecker deals with the perception of the zeitgeist, in a special way of the phenomena of the fleeting, the transitory that ultimately remains without meaning. Whereby Ecker's ephemeral, photographic recordings obviously assert distinctions in the course of their progressive ephemerization - less and less as a perceptible property of the individual artifact, but more and more in the sense of a process… of perception on the artifact, even as a procedural delimitation of artifacts and media in perception.
The EPHEMERS series was created in 2020 - 2021, consisting of 10 large-format analogue b / w photographs that appear in a limited edition.

Martin Ecker is a painter and photographer based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally. He cites space, time, and light playing a role in almost all of his compositions. In addition, Ecker's artistic practice favors experimentation with reactive processes and approaches. He has developed his own methods using living organisms in analog photography and also employs oxidation processes of precious metals his paintings.
