About this artwork
In this piece, I explore matter as memory. The wood dust, incorporated into the pigment, acts here as a fragment of life, an organic trace that both disturbs and enriches the surface. My intention is not to represent, but to allow to emerge: areas of density, chromatic ruptures, almost mineral resonances. Green, blue, and yellow are not colors, but states. They settle, fade, and overlap like silent strata. This work questions how a simple material—altered,… crushed, reduced to dust—can become an inner territory, a space of circulation between the tangible and the invisible. The work does not impose an interpretation; it offers a field of experience where one encounters depth through accumulation and dissolution.
Maryse Pique is a self-taught painter, shaped by her daily dialogue with materials and color. Following a free abstraction, her style is nourished by the superposition of layers and colorful textures in a spontaneous symphony of gestures and hues. Through her rhythmic works, vibrant with emotion, she shares a range of inner sensations, from tensions to renewals, and an invitation to reflection and freedom.
