About this artwork
"Perceptions #7" is an evocation. It is neither a map nor a landscape, but perhaps an echo of both. I worked on this canvas as one would compose an inner territory, letting the colors impose themselves, join together, and repel each other.
Blue is an expanse. Red, a land. Green, a plant or mental boundary. Nothing is fixed, everything is possible. This painting is an emotional geography—a slow, sensory perception.
I paint to materialize sensations:… here, there is silence, warmth, and a little distance too. "Perceptions #7" is a horizon line to feel, not to read.

Maryse Pique is a self-taught painter, shaped by her daily dialogue with materials and color. Following a free abstraction, her style is nourished by the superposition of layers and colorful textures in a spontaneous symphony of gestures and hues. Through her rhythmic works, vibrant with emotion, she shares a range of inner sensations, from tensions to renewals, and an invitation to reflection and freedom.
