In my artwork I combine charcoal, ink and chalk to create a tension between realism and abstraction. The flowing, energetic lines and subtle color palette evoke a landscape that is both familiar and mysterious. An invitation to lose yourself in a world of reflection and emotion, this drawing brings an atmosphere of contemplation and inner peace to any room.

Mathias Roloff is a painter, draftsman, and printmaker based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally, in Switzerland, the United States, and Italy. Through his diverse pieces, he explores the dependancies of individuals, as well as to what extent the dualism of external influences and one's own value systems contributes to a permanent shift in the moral boundaries that have been set by oneself.
