About this artwork
Thread n°3 – Blueminded is part of Botanical Freedom, a series in which organic structures become metaphors for freedom, interconnection, and inner states of awareness. In this piece, I animated the surface with an intricate web of white filaments that spreads across a deep blue ground, evoking mycelial networks, neural pathways, or root systems observed at both microscopic and cosmic scales. The blue ground functions as a mental space—dense, immersive,…
and contemplative—while gold leaf inserts punctuate the surface with luminous nodes, suggesting seeds of energy or moments of emergence. The “thread” is both material and symbolic: a network that binds complexity into coherence.
The work invites a slow, attentive gaze, proposing a vision of freedom rooted in balance, continuity, and relational growth The network does not impose a center or a hierarchy; instead, it unfolds as an open system, where each element exists through relation.

Matteo Silva is a multidisciplinary artist whose work bridges the worlds of visual art and music. A painter, composer, and producer, he was introduced to the arts in early childhood by his parents, nurturing a deep sensitivity to form, sound, and silence. After completing academic studies in music and building a long, successful career as a recording artist and producer, he has dedicated his creative life to exploring the interplay between sound, image, and perception.
His art is deeply meditative and reflects a lifelong engagement with eastern philosophy, in particular with Dzogchen and Zen. These contemplative roots inform both his visual and sonic language, offering not merely aesthetic experiences but invitations into awareness and presence.
Working with oils, acrylics, mixed media, and immersive sound and light installations, Silva’s recent works blend visual rhythm, harmonic structures, and melodic intuition to evoke mystical and contemplative dimensions.
