About this artwork
In this work, my creative process becomes an excavation. Through 'Strata Light', I seek to capture the instant when light settles on matter and becomes solid. I have worked the surface by alternating layers of organic pigments, gesso, and sand, allowing the relief to dictate its own geography through cracks and erosions that evoke the passage of time.
For me, working in this 146x90 cm format has been an exercise in balance: while the upper part… breathes in an atmosphere of calm and emptiness, the lower area asserts its physical weight and its scratched texture. I'm not trying to represent a landscape, but rather the emotion of a threshold where the ethereal and the earthly meet. It's an invitation to pause and let your gaze wander over each layer, discovering that true serenity resides in the imperfection of the material.
