About this artwork
"Dias de los muertos"captures the day between death and life. The day of the dead, in Spanish Dia de Muertos, one of the most important Mexican holidays , celebrated on November 1 and 2, traditionally commemorates the deceased. A common symbol of the holiday is the skull -in Spanish calavera- which celebrants represent in masks, mostly painted directly on the face ....like you see it on my artwork!
For a perfect artwork one needs a perfect reference.… Therefore I prefer to make the reference photo by myself, if it is possible. In this case I even painted the calavera mask on the model's face in order to get the perfect template for my painting. You can see some of the photos from the photo shooting ....
