About this artwork
"Cruise'n" shows a lobsterman in his boat pulling away from the pier in Cape Porpoise, Maine. In this scene, I was drawn to the unusual perspective of looking down into the lobster boat from the pier and the interesting pattern of shadows on the lobsterman's yellow overalls.
« I am drawn to art that gives me a glimpse of what life was like in the past. I strive to do the same for those viewing in the future. »
Michael Maron is an experienced artist based in the United States whose paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions nationally. In his most recent works, he reflects his desire to document a way of life that is under stress from global warming and a progressive loss of working waterfront that is in danger of disappearing. Maron's distinctive figurative compositions are created with oils on canvas.
