About this artwork
I wanted to create a work of a contemporary fellow artist, one that held your gaze with her oversized mouth and one eye on the prize of fame and fortune, I began this work in the late 90s, similar to all this series, It took many years to finally complete, as each layer of paint and mosaic would eventually give me a completed work, that reflects my vision of what I see .

Mista Fig is an experienced British sculptor who has exhibited his work internationally. He discovered a passion for art as a young boy, when he would take off-cuts of wood from his grandfather—a coal miner—and turn them into fruits of his imagination. Seeking always to create with passion and freedom, he constructs primarily figurative sculptures that tell stories across a range of themes.
